A big task, but I’m up for the job!
I’M A MOM AND THEN SOME…
While I have been blogging for years, having my son helped me marry my educational background (Double Honors BA Psychology & Law, 2 year MSW, a Masters focusing on Health & Mental Health at the University of Toronto and MSc in Evidence-Based Interventions from the University of Oxford) to my love of social justice and being a mom.
Finally something useful I can put all that schooling and work experience toward!
THIS BLOG IS ABOUT MOM’S HOLISTIC WELLNESS BECAUSE…
Health for me as a person and practitioner is holistic.
It’s taking care of yourself inside and out —mentally, emotionally, physically, financially and spiritually.
I don’t have to tell you being a mom is hard work. But, in order for you to give your best to your children and family, you need to be at your best all around.
…AND THERE’S NOTHING LIKE THIS OUT THERE.
I KNOW, I STRUGGLED TO FIND TRUSTWORTHY INFO IN ONE PLACE!
On my journey I also noted the fact that there were few safe spaces to talk openly about mama’s mental health and postpartum fitness. In a NON-judgemental way.
When I became a mom, I also found it frustrating to search for trusted and helpful wellness and parenting resources. I would read loads of uninformed ‘opinions’ online rather than expert opinion, actual research and facts based on some level of science. It was so difficult and time consuming to sift through it all with a newborn in my arms.

What I write here is based on my professional and personal experiences, as well as drawn from my education. This is a safe space where I discuss my mom thoughts, concerns, worries and debates in the context of my life as a mom.
