4 OPEN AIR KID ACTIVITIES FOR COMING OUT OF QUARANTINE

Summer activities for the kids

As things start to return to a new sense of normal, parents are looking for open air kid activities to make this summer fun. Playgrounds, restaurants and stores are starting to reopen, however flying to travel has not quite resumed.

Folks are traveling again, but mainly through driving or by other means to limit the risk of exposure.

For more information about COVID-19 safety according to the World Health Organization, as well as helping your children emotionally through this time take a look.

4 ENGAGING OPEN AIR KID ACTIVITY IDEAS

What’s nice about this time, it brings us back to some of the basics. You don’t need all the bells and whistles to have a good time with the family.

Here is a little list of open air kid activities to keep the family safe, yet allow them to have a fun summer reminiscent of how it used to be.

1. Road trips galore.

You don’t need to fly to get away. Throw some stuff and the kids in a car and map out a small route depending on how old the children are and get out of town. Literally. Find little hideaways with plenty of outdoor space and enjoy time with the family outside of your home, yet keeping it safe.

2. Go wild(life parks).

Check out nature in your own backyard so-to speak. In plenty of places there are loads of wildlife parks that are great for animal spotting, hikes and just a nice chill day out. Pack a backpack full of food, water and some supplies for the kids and go for it.

3. Plan a little camp out.

Lots of campgrounds and sites are open for families to come and get away for a bit. Take the opportunity to teach some life skills and get away from the city or your hometown. Find the little gems nearby.

4. Take ‘em to the zoo.

I’m not the highest fan of zoos, so I’d recommend taking a look at what type of zoo you’re going to before going. There are zoos that are well known for their research, care and regeneration and/or breeding projects. It’s a good learning opportunity and helps to limit the contact with people whilst doing something fun with the children.
